For much of my life I have felt as if I were blind to my true purpose; as if I were wandering aimlessly in a desert. This workshop opened my eyes to the world and taught me that I have everything that I need within me to fulfill my life’s purpose. The wisdom I’ve gained and the bond I share with the men from my group will not leave me. I feel a newfound vitality of life, clarity to know how I should lead my life, and knowledge that I have the strength to break the shackles of enmeshment. I entered this workshop as a boy and I leave as a man I have longed to be.

Developed by Dr. Ken Adams, the intensives workshops create a unique and intensive healing process for those struggling with the trappings of enmeshment. The workshops are limited in size to best facilitate the healing process and create a shared experience of moving forward from the guilt, ambivalence, and over-accommodation that burdens those struggling with enmeshment.
Recovery Enhancement for Mother-Enmeshed Men:
Men who have had an enmeshed relationship with their mother struggle with a range of problems regarding commitment, self-esteem, sexual dysfunction, over-caretaking, and addiction.
The Mother Enmeshed Men (MEM) Workshop was originally held twice a year from 2014 to 2016, but because of increasing demand for this life-altering event, we now offer workshops in person and over Zoom. In the last three years, we have had over 30 Zoom workshops. We’ve worked to ensure that nothing is lost in the online format, with the same content and modalities used in both in-person and online workshops.
Workshop Objectives:
- Identify the trappings of enmeshment;
- Understand the impact of enmeshment on their erotic template;
- Cope with underlying anger & guilt;
- Develop strategies to help them to break free from inappropriate loyalties and learn to live within healthy commitments.
Who Should Attend:
- Men who are struggling to fully separate and emancipate from their mother/family of origin
- Men looking for a shift in their autonomy and clarifying their true desires and passions
- Men who feel they have done some boundary work but are still struggling with the internal imprint of enmeshment
